Shepherd International Education (SIE) / Gangdong, Seoul / Looking for Grade 1 Homeroom Teacher for 2026

Currently, we have one vacancy for a Grade 2 homeroom teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year.


Basic Requirements:

  • Residing in Korea

  • Have an F-type working VISA or Korean citizenship

  • Be able to be registered as a teacher with the ministry of education

  • At least two years of teaching experience

  • Starting date: August 10, 2026


Conditions:

  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:50AM to 4:50PM

  • Vacation: all national holidays, 4 personal/sick days per year, 2 weeks in winter, 4 weeks in summer

  • Free cafeteria lunch

  • Four insurances and severance

  • Starting at 2.8 million KRW per month (negotiable based primarily on education and years of experience; there are new-hire payscale guidelines in place). 

  • Housing or housing allowance of 500,000 KRW for foreign nationals.

  • Teaching Age: Grades 1-4

  • Breaks: teach a daily maximum of 5 out of 7 classes possible in the schedule (not including after-school clubs)

  • Class Size: Approximately 10 - 18 students per class

  • Teacher Training: Initial Teacher Training and Professional Development Days

  • Teaching Staff: 30+ Teachers

Requirements

  • At least two years of teaching experience in a classroom setting

  • Teaching accreditations preferred


Roles and Responsibilities

  • All the duties and responsibilities associated with early years education, including pastoral care, parent communications, academic progress monitoring and support

  • Plan, prepare and conduct classes at the scheduled times

  • Record, evaluate and communicate students’ performances in an objective, fair and timely manner

  • Comply with SIE policies, standards, rules, regulations and procedures of the institution

  • Model honesty, good social skills, civic responsibility, fairness and ethical conduct

  • Work collaboratively with SIE administrators and fellow teachers

  • Participation in SIE events and club activities
